Cristina holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree with a concentration in vocal music and a Masters of Music Education degree with a double concentration in voice and choral conducting. She is currently finishing a post-graduate certificate in choral conducting and arts administration and plans to begin auditioning for DMA programs in Choral Conducting. She has worn many hats in her time at Old Dominion University, including Opera Workshop Conductor, Assistant Director of Choirs, Instructor for ODU's elite scholarship ensemble, the F. Ludwig Diehn Chorale, Choral Graduate Teaching Assistant, Interim Office Manager, and Assistant Conductor for Old Dominion University's 60-voice Concert Choir, who has been invited to sing at Carnegie Hall this coming March of 2024, a trip which she has coordinated as part of her arts administration training. In the Spring of 2022, she served as the Associate Director for Diehn Chorale in ODU's production of Rodger and Hammerstein's Cinderella, for which she earned a Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival nomination for Vocal Coaching.
An accomplished vocalist, she has appeared with numerous ensembles over the years, including ODU Opera, the Virginia Symphony Orchestra Chorus, Virginia Opera, TodiMusicFest, multiple Navy Bands, and USO shows around the world. She has also had notable performances in Austria, Germany, and Italy, as well as at domestic venues such as Disney World, EPCOT Center, Universal Studios Florida, and the Navy Pier. Cristina is a member of Pi Kappa Lambda Music Honor Society as well as Phi Kappa Phi and Omicron Delta Kappa honor societies, and is an active member of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA), the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) and the SongWorks Education Association (SWEA). In her spare time, she reads and writes horror fiction and is an avid gamer and crafter.
